Sir P made fun of me last night
for my comments on Valentine's Day in the past.
But the truth is
I don't love Valentine's Day
it's contrived
if that is the only day you show me that you love me
you can keep it
This attitude by the way has led to
drumroll
a dearth of valentine's cards, flowers and candy
but
not a lack of love.
so instead
Thank you to all of you who show me love and kindness
because you make it Valentines' Day the other 364 days a year.
Sounds to me like someone just needs to be shown what Valentine's Day really can be. ;)

O, i am sooo with you on this one!! I've had some lovely valentine days, but i think there is always that element of coercion that leaves me a bit cold. i feel the same about Mother's Day too though. A lot of pressure that doesn't serve any good purpose. Yeah.

Not a big valentines day person myself but since the kids have come along we do it because they get all giddy about it.
