Anxiety Dream

I was driving down a snowy road
really worried about how fast the people in front
and behind me are going

not wanting to be hit

and all of sudden
the vehicle from a cross road
loses control
and goes into a stream

I pull through the intersection -- and
I pause for a second deciding if they need my help
there are so many people around
and decide they do
if nothing else -- I have blankets in the car

the man runs out with 2 kids and sets them on the ground in the median
he runs back

I start getting blankets

there are 3 kids by the time I get there
and I start wrapping blankets around them
eventually there are 7 kids

(fortunately one of the blankets is electric so I can get them warm -- lol)

the kids tell me that the man was bad
he bought them
from their parents

so I take them home
and it's chaos

complete chaos

and the kids
well

the kids have these alien creatures
under their skin
that are vicious
horrible beast
they bite you when you take them out

and I become so involved in taking care of the kids
and trying to figure out what to do with 4 of them
because I am not licensed for 7
that I miss work
and start to get in trouble

and I'm filthy in this dream
absolutely covered in dirt
as is my house

and the kids and I are cleaning it up
(and it should be mentioned that we clearly love each other
and are growing close -- and laughing all this time)

and I get infected by the aliens under my skin as well
and I keep trying to put them in bags or something
so they can be studied

but when you take them out

they melt away.

and then -- I woke up.

and I smiled when I woke up

because

this is a perfectly normal anxiety dream

I've known for some time that January would kick things off again
and

it's January

I find it comforting that my subconscious is freaking out

because

things are moving ahead again

and I couldn't be happier.
