Prayer blocked

Ring Ring

Hello Sister SFP, I'm calling from the X Church - we were so happy you visited us with KK and FL on Sunday and we hope to see you again.

Um -- Thank you -- but I don't believe we will be coming back again, the girls thought the church was a bit too big for them  (ok - they didn't say big - they said boring)

oh - I'm sorry to hear that Sister -- is there anything we could do differently.

No -- it's just not a fit for my girls.

Before I sign off - is there anything you would like to pray about?

Um - -gee -- I have a meeting I am late for -- I wish I had time.

How do you politely tell someone that you don't want them to pray for you
with you
over you

it seem so insulting to say no

to say,

"um - -Gee -- I would love to work Jesus in -- but I just don't have the time - have Jesus' people call my people and we'll pencil something in"

  1. I'm more disturbed by the fact that she kept calling you Sister. I just think it's weird. I'm not your sister, dude.

  2. *almost, almost* snorted tea out my nose.

    oh, mwhahahaha....

and it's not funny at the same time...I agree, the "sister" part would def. ook me out. Did I ever tell you how happy I am to be a pagan?

    :)

  3. How about "God has been so good to me, I can't think of a single thing to pray about, but thank you for offering. God bless you!" and then you say good by and hang up.

  4. Oh, i love Annoymous' reply!! Brilliant!

And yeah, offers to pray for me ick me out, kinda like someone saying, "We love you," when they don't know me from Eve, or Lilith, as the case may be.

Great story... and i'm glad you're not going back. Doesn't sound like your spiritual home.
