Parents

My parents have been here all week

house shopping

squeeeeee!

they found one that's a few blocks away

I know many of you would cringe
worse than cringe to have family so close

but not me

I adore them

they are wonderful
kind
loving people

I am by far the meanest of our little clan
by far

although that's a little bit like being the sluttiest nun
(aka -- not all that mean at all)

they are so excited to be grandparents.
and I'm so excited to make them grandparents

and I'm sure that from time to time we will wear on each other's nerves

but mostly

this is one of the things that will make me happiest in this new life

because I love them dearly
and having them close
will make my life much more full

    Thats wonderful!!! It's pretty cool that you don't mind them so close...

    Truthfully mouse prefers a bit of a buffer zone...;-)

    Then again O's family can be very overwhelming at times...

    oh my gosh, I can't wait for you to be a mom, I'm so thrilled that all this is happening in your life. I LOVED having my family close when I had little kids, absolutely loved it. More family is better, cause sometimes there is more than enough parenting/nuturing to go around. Lucky you.

    I have a large family and we all live fairly close together in a smallish community, like most things it has its advantages and its disadvantges, with children its great as there is support but at times it can be stifling as well.

    I've lived close to them before and we all really liked it

    and that was with a not-well-liked-then-husband

    so this should be much better

    So happy for you, my friend. I wish, really wish, my family had as much invested about my kids. At best they are casual about them. Wife's mom is more wanting to be involved, but is way more prone to snarking at them for not being "perfect" little children.

    Sounds like you have the best of all possibilities.
