the kiddo is home from college
and it's an interesting relationship
because she's not my responsibility any more
I can't mother her
but I can big sister her
aaaaand
apparently she's begun to date
(well -- she's had a few little dates)
she was not going to date American boys
but looks like things have changed
looks like I'm going to have the sex talk.
and send her back to school with condoms.
I promised her that we would talk about it
and that I would answer anything
and that it wouldn't be a lecture
just
good advice
more parenting experience to put in my tool box.

lol -- I think it'll be the easiest sex talk I'll ever have -- because there's enough distance between us (not her mom) that I can have the talk without really freaking her out

in that way that you know that she'll take it in and weigh it
she said, "I'm sure my mom will want to have the talk this summer"
and I said, "yeah -- well -- let's make sure that this summer isn't too late"
and we both laughed
yeah
she needs the safe sex talk
