Horribly inappropriate moment # 17

KK shows me in a restaurant today how she pantomimes sucking a lollypop

iiiiiiiiin exactly the same way that teenage boys pantomime giving head

sigh

apparently her big sister played a joke on the 9 year old and I get to explain why it's naughty

her response

"oh - is that why my teacher keeps looking at me over her glasses?"

sigh

  1. Oh the things older siblings do to their completely idiolizing naive younger siblings. Ugh!

    You're a good mama.

  2. Fiona's right, they all do it...

The age differences between my older 2 and Scooter are a lot larger than your two, but the dynamic is the same. I cut WAY down on inappropriate intentional misinformation by making it a rule, if you show/let him overhear/tell him something inappropriate, then YOU need to explain what it means to him. That ended it right there. For a preteen, like FL, you might make it her job to explain, under your direct supervision of course. If you haven't discovered this yet for yourself, a good dose of embarrassment works wonders to moderate behavior, as long as it doesn't fall into the category of shaming. sneaky mom tricks volume 2. :)

  3. Sneaky Dad Trick #1...when dealing with a a daughter, run and hide and don't come out until Mom has had to deal with and face any and all sexual questions and issues. Especially those concerning her womanhood and that time of the month. :D

  4. Our biggest issue so far is language. Not sexually, per se, but about pee and poop etc. And farting, ye gods we must not forget about farting. Or the burping during meals. I don't eat dinner with the family that often since I'm at work...and gosh is that a blessing! :)

  6. They all do it - that's just one way in which younger sibs are different from older...

I like the idea of them (the older ones) helping to explain WHY things are inappropriate.

  7. What where the first # 16 moments?

My son was taught about condoms at a way to early age from a neighbor who was 4 years older than him.

Yeah- in the backyard, when I found them decorating my tree branches.

They all do it. Some how, some way inappropriate moments are part of the growing up process.

  8. @all - I should be clear that it's the BIG big sister - the one who doesn't live with us who taught her this little trick

so I can't get her to deal with it

nor would I want to let her explain the hows and why's of blow jobs.
