I dream a lot.
But I have always assumed that everyone dreams a lot
but that some of us remember them more than others
PL was showing off about his lack of snooze-use (yes - you have great discipline)
but I wonder if it isn't part of the key of remembering my dreams?
All the information I read about trying to remember your dreams involves not hopping out of bed right away
keeping your eyes closed
staying in the same position that you were dreaming in
and just
trying to hold onto the dream
then
as soon as I can
I either tell someone my dream
or
I write it down
I send it out to all of you
so
here's my theory
you are all dreaming about giant beavers
and pecan-rats
and racoon attacks
you just don't know it
so
why not make friends with the snooze button
and
see what dreams may come
i too do the snooze button thing...and yes, i do dream a lot...but during the seasonal shifting? my sleep is fractured and fragmented. My muse is disrupted, i stay up too late, run low, run weary...and then...*snap* i'm back in the sleeping groove, and i'm back to remembering my dreams.
ReplyDeletei dreamt of Master (a lot) this week...and also Mark Harmon (who could blame me there??) and, oh. A fisher cat.
Don't recall the sequence or the action...
but i was wet when i woke.
Does that count towards the strange dream profile?
*laughing*
naaah...you still win!!
i send Master a morning text every day, and a goodnight text every night. We talk many nights but not every one. Those little rituals are special, necessary, and in their own way, sacred.
so happy that you're touching the Happy Button!

Of course you're right - I do have some weird dreams. It was a dream that got me started on the "my cigarettes died" thing.
ReplyDeleteBefore JM, I used to remember only bad dreams - ones that were unpleasant or scary and left me unsettled, and an occasional one that terrified me so badly I was afraid to go back to sleep. Since JM, that's shifted and I can have some just interesting dreams, and haven't been distressed by them for a long time.
Lots of anxiety dreams, lots of missed exams, job interviews, losing teeth, and the occasional naked in public one. And where am I going with this?
Oh, yeah, just confirming I have my share of weird dreams. Especially if I nap. Those are super intense.
But I like reading about yours better!

i'm not sure if i ever mentioned my "toll-takers" nightmare...and i had another a few weeks ago that i cannot remember...But i told Master about the toll-takers, and He used it to spin a wild fantasy that i had to masturbate to...
ReplyDeleteso mean...yet it became very cathartic, too...
it was one of those "repeat" dreams, and scared the snot outta me.
He fixed it.

Oh I dream alot too... and I've heard that most people dream in black and white, but all the dreams I can remember are pretty colorful. Just a few of the dreams I can remember from recently have involved dragons, portals, my sister stealing my thunder, an ex proclaiming his undying love, angels, the end of the world, tornadoes, fire, snow... and so much more. I have strange dreams. (In one of the dragon dreams we had to throw cups of popcorn at the dragon in order to distract it so we could run past to the portals and escape, while in a field of wheat that was on fire.)
ReplyDeleteAlso, I definitely agree with your theory about remembering being easier if you don't open your eyes right away, or move, etc. Today I can't remember a single dream because I woke up and got up right away, a few days ago I had such a strange dream that even after I woke up I was trying so hard to replay it in my mind over and over so I'd remember it, and I did, in detail.
My dreams tend to be rather obvious and direct (good or bad; examples available on request). I can't snooze during the week. I'll try at weekends and report any findings.
ReplyDeletethank you guys for sharing
ReplyDeleteI'll try throwing popcorn at the dragons
good tip
I'll look forward to hearing more about dreams
because I don't think I'm done yet.
not nearly done
