Not always what we think

After all the excitement of the morning -- we headed off on the adventures of the day -- well -- we went to a farmer's market

It amazes me how much the kiddo's approach to art and photography has changed my approach

She get's up close

and finds the ordinary fascinating.

We went to the farmer's market -- and then our Aisha needed to handle some work type things and I went for a walk

From there we went to a wonderful museum with an exhibit on Cuban artitsts

and it's so tempting to make everything they do be about Castro -- poverty -- the revolution

but as I searched for the deeper meaning in some of the work -- I remembered

that not everything has to be about THE BIG THING -- that all of us are more than what we do

these artists are more than just about Cuba

they're artists

pure and simple

and have more to say than just that

not everything is fraught with deep political meaning

that sometimes a cigar is just a cigar

and it's important to remember that all of us

are more

than just TTWD
