Munching Zombies

Aisha took me to the local Munch

and I have to say -- that the experience in Where-She-Lives is dramatically different from the experience in Where-I-Live.

Ok -- I didn't do the munch Where-I-Live -- but I have been to 3 events - -if you wanted you could go find them -- it was around last Dec/Jan -- and the experiences left much to be desired -

yeah

they were awful

filled with people touching inappropriately -- warning me about dangerous people and infighting.

the group here seems very sweet
and supportive

and either there was nothing to warn me about
or they don't do that sort of thing
or hey -- maybe they figure that if you're new you have to find out about the predators on your own just like they did and ha-ha won't it be fun to watch.

We filled up the basement room of a pizza joint -- and other than the fact that it was a bit like dinner with my ex husband's family (everyone talking at once -- about a 1000 different things) -- it was a normal dinner with some nice people -- in very very very short skirts.

afterwards

yeah -- afterwards there was a Zombie fest thing that was being promoted

and I hate to say it

I'm too old for that shit

It was fun to see everyone dressed up in their zombie wear -- and the band was actually pretty good -- well -- LOUD -- but talented -- and it's good to see that you can still work the word "Fuck" into so many of today's songs.

but I was born too old for that shit.

I'm never going to be any good at standing around in a bar looking like I fit in

I look lost

like a librarian who got a flat tire and ducked in here out of the weather waiting for AAA

on the bright side -- If someone ever says, "How do you KNOW you don't want to go to Zombie Fest -- have you ever BEEN to Zombie Fest?"

I can tell them that I have massive experience in that area and I'm fine

scratch another thing off the bucket list.

I did however get to buy a lovely Lichenstein-esque Zombie panting that I can't wait to hang in my house

We're having a grand time -- and today we're up to scratch new things off the list

  1. If you'd only told us about the zombie fest, we would have rearranged our plans.

  2. I'm with you. I was never very good at standing around bars either. So I generally don't go. Except for the few times the fiend has ordered me to be there. Which was REALLY uncomfortable until he turned up!

I never did understand the zombie thing...

I'm glad you're having a good time - but then how come your mood of the day status says "blech. -- icky icky icky"?

  4. Would that be Lichtenstein-esqu Zombie PAINTING? Just curious...

And I think I would like standing around a bar with Zombies... At least I would be prepared to try it!
