16 weeks in - a mommy post

After a few days of blogging about blogging
a bit of mommydom

today marks 16 weeks of life for my baby
Happy Birthday little man.

He's more than doubled in weight
sleeping (sometimes) through the night

has a real routine

He's figured out his hands are HIS and can grab things he wants to shove towards his mouth
and he gives sloppy smeary kisses

he laughs
particularly when his mommy makes him fly up in the air

he's outgrown a pile of clothes
and seems to eat pacifiers.

someday I will find a pile of them
unless they go where the odd socks go when they disappear in the wash
in which case they're down the rabbit hole

He's strong
and happy

and so very handsome

I'm no closer to knowing when/if he'll be mine

I am in the dark
and whenever I deal with someone official -- I'm continually reminded that I'm powerless
and they are in control

but I am keeping the faith
and keeping my eye on the prize.

as for me and my man?

well -- I still don't know what will happen with us

neither does he

but he's my friend
and he's my man
and he's the boss of me
and we're going to make it up as we go along

but for the record?

I am deeply deeply happy

aaaaaand

I need to get off the internet and go wash and boil some bottles before the prince wakes up and disproves everything I've written here by screaming his little head off

  1. And another post from you!!! YAY!!

i'm so glad you're happy - so glad you are, at least for the moment, in the space you want to be with your Little One. Keeping my fingers crossed and sending good energy for the future, but glad you're reveling in the moment.

    hugs,

(I do not miss having a baby in the house though, I found it easier once they were old enough to talk. )

  4. Remember those first days, when sleep was impossible? The changes you've gone through, both of you, are your history...and a fine story it is becoming, too!

I am happy for your happy...and blessed month-day wee Boyo. You've got a fine momma there...:)

Sending hope and continued joy as you continue the adventure of mommyhood with your son.

    love and hugs,

    nilla

  5. It goes fast! Well, not while you're going through it -- but for the rest of us it seems like just yesterday!

    It's wonderful for you!

    Hugs,
