I was searching

I was close to quitting my search

I was tired of meeting men
who didn't fit

I was tired of trying to make what i want
fit what they want

and I got a message
in response to my ad

a sweet, thoughtful message
that made me smile

and I wrote back
thanking him for the wonderful message
and expressing regret that he lives too far away
that I had no interest in long-distance

and then turned to read the next message

which just said, "Nice ass"

by then M had responded back
and I wrote back to him and said, "maybe I spoke too soon, the next guy just wrote "nice ass""

and he said, "maybe you shouldn't be so fast to throw me away -- it's only 180 miles"

and
I am so
very happy I didn't throw him away

because he's my friend
my lover
my Dom
my man
my partner

and I am lucky
and so is he
